Sankofa Day and Performance: Intro Kizomba

A deep dive into Kizomba's history, dance, & culture, this workshop will conclude with a short performance by attendees. You will learn fundamental body movement, partner work & cultural roots using the Ghanian principle of Sankofa, "taking from the past what is good & bringing it into the future." The day will close with a performance by attendees at our Afro Roots Party.

Attendees will be taught a short choreography to perform at the evening social. Performing is optional. If you plan to perform, bring something to wear that is nice casual.
