Sankofa Day and Performance (July): Afro Cuban and Bomba y Plena

A deep dive into Afro Cuban & Bomba y Plena history, dance, & culture. This workshop will include choreography and conclude with a short performance by attendees. We focus on the Ghanian principle of Sankofa, "taking from the past what is good & bringing it into the future."

The day will close with a performance by attendees at our Afro Roots Party.

Children (5 years - 11 years)

First child free with paying adult, additional children are $10 each

SCHEDULE

Attendees will be taught a short choreography to perform at the evening social. Performing is optional. If you plan to perform, bring something to wear that is nice casual.

• No partner needed
